PLAYER OF THE GAME: Cobb was the easily was the best player on the field. He scored all three of the Spartans’ touchdowns on a 20-yard reception, a 1-yard run and a 70-yard interception return to ice the game for Glenn Hills.
WHY GLENN HILLS WON: The Spartans (2-4) got some big plays in the passing game and if not for self-inflicted penalties, could have blown the game open. Glenn Hills had a 137 yards passing from Santo Nina, including the first score of the game, a 20-yard hookup with Cobb.
WHY BUTLER LOST: The Bulldogs (1-5) mustered less than 50 yards of offense in the second half and failed on four fourth-down conversions.
QUOTABLE: “He’s a big time player. We do depend on him a lot and he makes a lot of good plays on offense, defense and special teams. I wish we could have gotten the ball in the end zone a few more times.” – Glenn Hills head coach Andrew Young
