In Class A, the Irish moved up a spot to No. 3 while the Red Devils remained fifth in the latest Associated Press Georgia high school football polls.
Lincoln County visits Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, with the Irish 0-31 in the series since a 1972 win.
Besides Aquinas’ one-spot improvement, the only other top-10 change for area schools this week was Washington-Wilkes’ fall from the Class AA rankings. The Tigers were 5-0 and No. 7, but they lost to Jefferson, 31-0, last week. Washington-Wilkes is still receiving four votes, however.
Screven County, a 21-20 winner at Laney this past week, received one vote.
Elsewhere, Thomson and Washington County are still at Nos. 2 and 3 in Class AAA. The two play each other in Thomson on Oct. 26.
In Class AAAA, Burke County was again No. 3. The Bears have won five in a row after the season-opening loss to Thomson.
