Most of the Augusta area’s ranked high school football teams haven’t moved in the latest polls.

Of the six local teams in the polls, only Lincoln County has a different rank in the newest Associated Press Georgia high school football polls.

The Red Devils went up from No. 6 to No. 5 in Class A after a 49-27 win against First Presbyterian. That leaves them one spot behind No. 4 Aquinas. The two Region 7-A schools play Oct. 11 at Aquinas.

As for the other classes, every local squad stayed put. Burke County is no longer tied at No. 3 in Class AAAA, but it does hold the position by itself this week. In Class AAA, Thomson and Washington County are again Nos. 2 and 3.

Finally, Washington-Wilkes kept its No. 7 rank. The Tigers are in front of No. 8 Greater Atlanta Christian, who is home against Thomson, and No. 10 Lovett, who visits Washington County.
