In Warrenton, Fifth Newton’s PAT was the difference as Briarwood edged Thomas Jefferson.

Newton’s kick came in the first quarter after Bryce Sowell’s 1-yard touchdown run.

It stayed 7-0 until the fourth quarter when Thomas Jefferson’s Michael Bridges scored on a 2-yard run. The potential game-tying PAT was no good.

The game ended on an interception by Briarwoood’s Steven Parris.
