The teams entered on the opposite ends of the spectrum; the girls at 5-0 and the boys at 0-5. The girls swept the Fighting Irish 5-0, while the boys were swept 5-0.

A week ago, the Lady Wolfpack were tested by Lakeside before pulling out a 3-2 victory, but they have lost just one match the rest of the season.

Playing an eight-game pro set, the Lady Wolfpack’s five seniors and two freshmen lost a total of four games in besting Aquinas (4-4).

Greenbrier’s No. 1 singles player Blair LaSure beat Elizabeth Brady 8-1, No. 2 Morgan Taylor won 8-1 over Stephanie Munie and No. 3 Katie Krupp downed Lydia Purcell 8-0.

“It wasn’t my best playing,” said Taylor, a freshman. “I was able to pull it out with my abilities.”

In doubles, Brooke Sanderson and Lauren Batchelor were 8-2 winners while Heather Frazier and Molly Lee won 8-0.

“My serve was terrible today,” Sanderson said. “Good thing she’s really good, or I’d have been out of luck,” she said of Batchelor.

The unbeaten Fighting Irish were too tough for the Wolfpack on the boys side.

Braxton Hain had a chance to pull the upset on Denton Boone, leading at one point 5-4. But he lost his serve and would not win another game, losing 8-5.

“I was hitting my forehand good,” Hain said. “He just got them back. He was consistent.”

No. 2 Brennan O’Shea recorded an easy 8-0 victory over Alec Masella. In No. 3 singles, James O’Quinn beat Austin Dayton 8-0.

In doubles, No. 1 John Ingram and Andrew May picked up an 8-1 win over Tyler Jekinson and Sam Baker. Chris Leonard and Sadler Quarles defeated Rishad Chawla and Ethan Askins 8-0.
