Washington County girls fall in title game

MACON, Ga. — The unbeaten run is done.

The Washington County girls basketball team lost to Columbia, 57-33, in the Class AAA championship game Saturday night at the Macon Coliseum. The loss ended the Lady Hawks’ 63-game winning streak.

Washington County’s Allisha Gray scored only 14 points and was hindered by foul trouble. She sat on the bench for more than half of the second quarter as Columbia went ahead by 17 points at the half.

The Lady Hawks finished the year 31-1.
