Schools in football brawl now in different subregions

Hancock Central, Warren County separated by GHSA

The Georgia High School Association’s Reclassification Committee has moved Hancock Central to a different subregion in Region 7-A to separate it from Warren County, GHSA Executive Director Ralph Swearngin said.

Swearngin said people in the region thought it would be best to have the two schools on opposite sides.

Warren County will be in Subregion A with Aquinas, Glascock County, Lincoln County and Taliaferro County. Hancock Central is in Subregion B with Challenge Charter, First Presbyterian, Georgia Military Prep, Georgia Academy for the Blind, Twiggs County and Wilkinson County.

Swearngin said the GHSA is still looking into the Oct. 14 postgame football brawl between Hancock Central and Warren County.
