TEAM PAGE: Wardlaw Patriots

STARS OF THE GAME: Lee had a game that legends are made of in rushing for 261 yards and three touchdowns while adding an 82-yard punt return for another score. Senior running back Jordan Faust rushed for 146 yards and had one touchdown. For Patrick Henry, junior running back Grant Youmans caught nine passes for 196 yards and four touchdowns.

WHY WARDLAW WON: The Patriots (13-0) got off to a great start, dominating the first quarter and jumping out to an early lead. And by the time Patrick Henry got its passing game going, Wardlaw simply went back to dominating up front and running the football between the tackles to put away the game.

WHY PATRICK HENRY LOST: Patrick Henry (11-3) fell behind early and was never able to finish off a drive until just before the half. By that time Wardlaw had three scores on the board and it was too late.

QUOTABLE: “This was a different ballgame than the first time (a 55-6 thrashing Wardlaw handed Patrick Henry during the regular season), and it was a little tougher this go-round. They took us (out of) our game plan there for a while, but we just had to go back to doing what we do best, and that’s running the football.” – Wardlaw Academy coach Chalmers Carr
