'Classic' features 10 teams

The 100 Black Men of Augusta will hold its 17th annual Thanksgiving Boys Basketball Classic on Friday and Saturday at Richmond Academy.

This year's event includes teams from Laney, Glenn Hills, Strom Thurmond, Evans, Aquinas, Josey, Butler, North Augusta, McCormick and Jefferson County.

A slam dunk and 3-point contest will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The halftimes of Saturday's games will feature local marching units: South Augusta Marching Unit, Garden City Marching Unit, Augusta Angels Marching Unit, Bell Terrance Marching Unit and "UNITY" Marching Unit.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at participating schools.

All proceeds benefit the mentoring program of the 100 Black Men of Augusta.
