TONIGHT'S GAMES

GEORGIA

CLASS A

Lincoln County (9-2) at Darlington (10-1), 7:30 p.m.

A win against Darlington would put the Red Devils into the quarterfinals, a round they have reached every season since 2002. Lincoln County has to go further back to find the last time it met the Tigers. In 1998, the Red Devils played Darlington in the state final, losing 16-6. This season, Lincoln County possesses a balanced offense led by quarterbacks Franklin Sherman and Garrett Mohr.

CLASS AAA

Baldwin (10-1) at Burke County (9-2), 7:30 p.m.

The Bears are home again in the second round, but they'll have to beat a Baldwin team they lost to in August. Burke County has never scored more than 14 points in a game against the Braves, but the Bears are only three victories away from playing in the Georgia Dome. Burke County is led offensively by its balanced rushing attack behind Devin Beverly, Donquell Green and Corey Mayton.

Thomson (9-2) at Peach County (11-0), 8 p.m.

Thomson is three wins away from Atlanta, but the Bulldogs have to play on the road against Peach County, the defending state champion. Thomson hasn't won two playoff games in one season since it took the state championship in 2002. The Trojans have won 26 games in a row.

GISA CLASS A

Briarwood (7-4) at Westwood (11-0), 7:30 p.m.

The Buccaneers have made it to the semifinals for the second consecutive season, but they're looking to do better after last season's defeat in this round. Briarwood previously met Westwood in the first round back in 2003, winning 21-0. This season, the Wildcats are unbeaten and score 36.5 points a game.

GISA CLASS AA

Edmund Burke (8-3) at Southwest Georgia (9-1), 7:30 p.m.

The Spartans are one victory away from playing in the final, but they'll have to win on the road to advance. Edmund Burke has scored at least 35 points four times in its past five games but hasn't faced Southwest Georgia since 1998. The Warriors haven't lost since August and were beaten in this round in 2009.

SOUTH CAROLINA

CLASS A, DIVISION II

Williston-Elko (11-1) at Christ Church (12-0), 7:30 p.m.

Defending champion Williston-Elko is close to repeating this season. Kendric Salley and Dexter Staley have dominated this season, and they combined to score 10 touchdowns in the second-round victory against Great Falls. The Blue Devils visit Christ Church tonight, and each team has scored at least 60 points in a combined three of four playoff games this season.

CLASS AA

Central (12-0) at Strom Thurmond (10-2), 7:30 p.m.

The Rebels get to play at home in the quarterfinals against Central. Strom Thurmond lost to Central, 14-9, in this round last season as Central advanced to the state final. In the second round, Strom Thurmond had 293 rushing yards against Mid-Carolina as Darius Hammond scored the final three touchdowns of the game to turn a 17-14 lead into a 38-14 victory.

CLASS AAAA, DIVISION II

T.L. Hanna (7-5) at North Augusta (11-1), 7:30 p.m.

No. 3 seed North Augusta should score plenty of points again as it plays T.L. Hanna in the quarterfinals. North Augusta, has shown a balanced attack with quarterback Loranzo Hammonds and running back DeMarcus Rouse.
