On Friday, Aug. 27 Butler High School's tightend, Jeffrey Menefee, scored three touchdowns and rushed for 204 yards against Westside High School. The Junior lead the Bulldogs to a rout of the Patriots 42-0. The win snapped their 41-game losing streak and gave promise for a hopeful season. HOW HE FARED: Menefee ran for 204 yards on 21 carries as Butler's dominating ground attack helped end the team's 41-game losing streak with a win against Westside. He also ran for three TDs as the Bulldogs won their season opener for the first time since 2003.

MENEFEE ON MENEFEE: "They made my job a lot easier. They blocked so well," Menefee said of his offensive line.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "They kept giving us inside runs," Butler coach Ashley Harden said. "We ran our halfbacks just four times. It was Jeff left, Jeff right and Jeff up the middle."

Not only is JM a great football player but he is also a great kid. Butler needs more individuals like him in their school.
