PLAY OF THE GAME: After the teams combined for six punts on their first six possessions, Lakeside quarterback Ben Wilson scrambled to his left to avoid a pass rush, squared his shoulders and heaved a 53-yard bomb for a touchdown to Justin Pitock on the last play of the first quarter.
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Lakeside's Ricky McMurtrey rushed for 143 yards and a TD on nine carries.
WHY LAKESIDE WON: The Panthers took awhile to get going, but when they did, six players scored touchdowns in just more than two quarters.
WHY BUTLER LOST: The Bulldogs were overpowered in the trenches. Butler ran the ball 19 times for net 0 yards, and managed only 45 yards of total offense. The loss was the 40th in a row for the Bulldogs.
