Chandler leads Panthers in win

  • Follow High school

Star of the Game: Lakeside quarterback Chad Chandler was efficient all game. He accounted for both Lakeside touchdowns. He went 13 of 17 passing for 99 yards.

PLAY OF THE GAME: With no score in the game, Lakeside scored when Chandler converted a third-and-goal pass to C.J. Marshall from the Cross Creek 20-yard line.

WHY LAKESIDE WON: The Panthers were efficient both running and passing. They also made a lot of clutch plays to control the game.

WHY CROSS CREEK LOST: For the second week in a row, the Razorbacks relied heavily on the passing game. QB Keenan Grissett had trouble hooking up with his targets and finished 5-for-16.

QUOTE: "They played good. You know, we had a lot of injuries ... Each time, we plugged somebody in there and they'd make a play." -- Lakeside coach, Jody Grooms

"I don't fault their effort. They played hard. They kept fighting. We just made too many mistakes, and beat ourself, and we can't do that." -- Cross Creek coach Scott Tate

-- Wes Mayle
