Danniel Cook completed a dramatic come-from-behind victory with a two-out, walk-off single in the 10th inning to score Luke Anders from second as the Augusta GreenJackets avoided elimination with a 5-4 win over the Savannah Sand Gnats tonight at Lake Olmstead Stadium.
The two teams will meet again Sunday at 2:05 p.m. to play for the division title.
The Sand Gnats seemed in full control and poised to clinch the first-half championship after Michael Fisher drove the third pitch of the game over the right field wall for a two-run homer, and Brandon Moore took a no-hitter into the eighth inning.
But GreenJackets second baseman Ryan Cavan broke up the no-hitter in the top of the eighth to spark a four-run rally. Pinch hitter Ryan Lollis drove in a run with a one-out single to left field and Nick Liles followed with a two-out, two-RBI triple.
The GreenJackets tied the game later in the inning when Liles swiped home on a wild pitch that bounced a few feet away from catcher Kai Gronauer.
Augusta relievers Jose Casilla and Ryan Verdugo held Savannah scoreless over the final three innings to set up Cook's heroics in the 10th.
