ATHENS, Ga. — Augusta’s Greyson Sigg and Chase Parker qualified for the U.S. Amateur in a sectional qualifier Tuesday at Athens Country Club.

Sigg shot 135 in the 36-hole event to claim medalist honors by two strokes over Sam Straka, of Valdosta, Ga. Parker tied for third at 138 with Zach Estep, of Lawrenceville, Ga.

They join Augusta’s Lee Knox and North Augusta’s Matt NeSmith, who qualified earlier this month at Columbia Country Club.

The U.S. Amateur is scheduled for Aug. 12-18 at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.

When Sigg digs in and his A game is on, he can compete with anybody. Second place in April's Junior Invitational looks pretty good on a resume.
