Jaguars' Antcliff wins Rice Planters in six-hole playoff

 MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — Australian Maverick Antcliff, who recently completed his first season on the Augusta State golf team, won a six-hole playoff over Austin Cody to capture the Rice Planters Amateur at Snee Farm Country Club on Saturday.

The two tied at 12-under-par 204 after 54 holes before embarking on the longest playoff in Rice Planters history.

After matching five pars in the playoff, Antcliff made an 8-foot birdie putt on the 414-yard, 18th hole to beat the 2011 Rice Planters winner.

Antcliff shot 66 on Sat­urday, while Cody shot 67.

Brian Carter, a former Lakeside golfer and member of the Georgia golf team, closed with 69 and finished at 208.
