Former Augusta State golfer Patrick Reed fired a 4-under-par 66 this morning to make a big move in the Travelers Championship.

After opening with 66, Reed is in second at 8-under through 36 holes at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. He trails Bubba Watson by two shots and is tied with Hunter Mahan, who tees off at 12:50.

Reed is coming off his best PGA Tour finish two weeks, when he placed fifth in the FedEx/St. Jude Classic.
