Area golfers are passing Q School

All four of the area players in the second stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School Tournament are in good shape at the halfway mark of their respective events in Texas.

Keven Kisner, Patrick Reed and Stephen Poole are playing at Redstone Golf Club’s Member Course in Humble, Texas, where the top 19 finishes after 72 holes advance to the final stage.

Kisner (68-67) and Reed (66-68) are tied for fifth place, one shot out of the lead. Poole, who was tied for 25th place after a first-round 71, came back with 67 and is tied for 11th place at 138.

Norlander also moved up at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, where the top 20 advance to the finals. After opening with 69 and being tied for 13th place, Norlander had 67 on Wednesday and is tied for sixth place, three shots out of the lead.

The finals start Nov. 28 at PGA West in LaQuinta, Calif., where the top finishers will earn PGA Tour cards for 2013.
