LAS VEGAS — Ryan Moore matched the course record and his career best with 10-under-par 61 on Thursday in the first round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Brendon de Jonge had 62, and Tim Herron and John Huh shot 63. Justin Leonard, Chris Kirk and Jonas Blixt are three strokes back at 64.

Ex-Augusta State golfer Patrick Reed, who made it through a qualifier to earn a spot in the field, shot 65, as did Evans resident Vaughn Taylor, another former Jaguar, and Swainsboro, Ga., resident Blake Adams.

EUROPEAN TOUR: In Kings­barns, Scotland, Branden Grace made five closing birdies to shoot a course record 12-under-par 60 in the opening round of the Dunhill Links Championship, which uses three courses.

Victor Dubuisson shot a course record 10-under 62 on Old Course at nearby St. Andrews.

Former Augusta State golfer Oliver Wilson tied for the day’s low round at Carnoustie with 67.

LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR: In Saint-Jean-De-Luz, France, Australian Stacey Keating shot 8-under-par 62 to lead by four shots after the first round of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.

Four players shot 66 – Virginie Lagoutte-Clement, Azahaza Munoz, Sophie Giqul-Bettan and Lydia Hall.

WEB.COM TOUR: In Potomac, Md., Jason Gore opened up a two-stroke lead after shooting 7-under-par 63 in the Neediest Kids Championship.

Golfers at 65 are Alistair Presnell, Michael Connell and Will Wilcox.

Augusta’s Scott Parel had 71. Aiken native Matt Hendrix shot 80.
