Chip Allen, Jay Mobley pace East team in GSGA's Junior Sectional Challenge Match

In Valdosta, Ga., Chip Allen, of Evans, and Jay Mobley, of Waynesboro, Ga., lead their age groups at the Georgia State Golf Associations’ Junior Sectional Challenge Match.

Mobley and Allen are playing for the East squad at Valdosta Country Club. Mobley shot 72 to pace the boys 12-13 age group while Allen had 75 to tie for the lead in the boys 14-15 group.

The East has 16.3 points and is in fourth place heading to today’s final round. The Southwest team leads with 28.

Also on the East squad are Evans’ Carter Harwell (91), Will Watson (81) and States Fort (76), Appling’s Alex Shead (80), Waynesboro’s Alex Clemens (86) and Augusta’s Emily Wilson (113).
