Augusta's Knox one back in State Amateur

Augusta’s Lee Knox is one shot off the lead in the Georgia Amateur at Settindown Creek in Roswell, Ga.

Knox, who won this tournament in 2010, was among the players who completed their second rounds on Friday before play was called at 5:06 p.m. because of inclement weather.

The University of Alabama golfer shot 2-under-par 70 and is at 5-under 139.
Acworth’s Michael Garretson, a South Alabama golfer, leads after rounds of 70-68–138.

The second round will be completed starting at 7:30 a.m. this morning.

Former Greenbrier golfer Chris Waters had 72 on Friday and is at 142, four shots off the lead.

Of the other area golfers who finished their second rounds, Austin Vick shot 71 and is at 149 while Brian Carter (78 on Friday) and Jeff Knox (74) are at 155. The cut is projected to be at 152.

William Sigg and Jamie Felder  will complete their second rounds this morning. Sigg opened with 72 and Felder 75.
