AVONDALE, La. — Jason Dufner moved into position for yet another bid to win his first PGA Tour title, shooting 7-under-par 65 on Friday to take the second-round lead in the Zurich Classic.
Russell Knox, John Rollins and Ken Duke were tied for second, one shot back. Knox shot 64, Rollins 66, and Duke 68. Greg Chalmers also had 64 to join Steve Stricker and Ernie Els at 10-under. Striker and Els shot 68.
Defending champion Bubba Watson had his second consecutive 71 to make the cut by a stroke.
LPGA TOUR: In Mobile, Ala., Stacy Lewis birdied five of her final nine holes for 5-under-par 67 and a one-stroke lead after the second round of the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic.
Lewis, the Kraft Nabisco winner last year, is at 9-under 135.
Karin Sjodin tied the tournament course record with a 64 to finish a stroke back along with Lindsey Wright (69), So Yeon Ryu (67)and rookie Sydnee Michaels (68).
EUROPEAN TOUR: In Seoul, South Korea, Bernd Wiesberger shot a course record 7-under-par 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Marcus Fraser after the second-round of the Ballantine’s Championship .
The 26-year-old Wiesberger, in search of his first European Tour victory, is at 7-under 137.
Fraser, the 2010 Ballantine’s champion, had 67.
Former Augusta State golfer Scott Jamieson (76-68–144) made the cut. Oliver Wilson (77-72–149), another ex-Jaguar, failed to qualify for the weekend.
NATIONWIDE TOUR: In Valdosta, Ga., Luke List shot 4-under-par 68 to take the 36-hole lead in the South Georgia Classic.
List, is at 9-under 135. He has a one-shot lead over Brian Stuard, (69).
Augusta’s Scott Parel (75-70–145) and Aiken native Matt Hendrix (79-69–148) missed the cut, which fell at 144.
