Haas wins Northern Trust Open in playoff

LOS ANGELES - Bill Haas rolled in a long birdie putt on the second hole of sudden death to beat Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson in the Northern Trust Open at Riviera.

The three players parred the first hole of sudden death, the 18th. The second hole was the 10th, a shortish par-4.

Haas, a former Wake Forest star who won the FedEx Cup last year on the PGA Tour, closed with 2-under-par 69. Mickelson and Bradley, who shared the third-round lead, shot 71s.
