Garth Mulroy leads Dunhill

MALELANE, South Africa — Garth Mulroy birdied five consecutive holes on the back nine to take the lead with 8-under 64 at the European Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Championship on Saturday.

The South African has another chance at a first European Tour title after his late run pushed him to 15- under and two shots ahead of Chile’s Felipe Aguilar heading to the final round at Leopard Creek Country Club.

EUROPEAN/ASIAN TOURS: In Johor Bahru, Malaysia, heavy rain washed out play Saturday and forced organizers to reduce the Iskandar Johor Open to 54 holes, with Sweden’s Daniel Chopra holding a two-shot lead going into the final day.

Chopra only had time to play one hole of his third round before the downpour forced play to be canceled for the day.

LPGA TOUR: In Orlando, Fla., Hee Young Park birdied three of the final four holes for 3-under 69 and a share of the third-round lead with Sandra Gal in the LPGA Tour's season-ending Titleholders.

PEBBLE BEACH INVITATIONAL: In Pebble Beach, Calf., Matt Bettencourt shot 3-under 69 at Pebble Beach for a share of the lead with Kyle Thompson after the third round of the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational.

Bettencourt, the 2010 Reno-Tahoe Open winner, and Thompson are at 11-under 205.

The tournament featured a starting field of 83 pros from the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Nationwide tours.
