Miami 7, Atlanta 19

Sun. September 13, 2009

*Carolina starting SS Harris, DT Hayden inactive*

ATLANTA(AP) -- Two Carolina Panthers starters, strong safety Chris Harris and defensive tackle Nick Hayden, are on the inactive list for their game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Harris missed his second straight game Sunday with a sore left knee. Hayden, who was listed as questionable later in the week, was out with a toe injury.

Quinton Teal started in Harris' spot. Louis Leonard replaced Hayden.

The Falcons' most notable inactive player was cornerback Tye Hill, who missed his second straight game. Atlanta coach Mike Smith has indicated that Hill, a former first-round draft pick acquired in a trade with St. Louis last month, is not entirely familiar with the team's defensive schemes.

Falcons offensive tackle Quinn Ojinnaka was inactive after lining up as an eligible receiver in last week's 19-7 win over Miami. Atlanta made tackle Will Svitek active instead.

Carolina, coming off a 38-10 loss to Philadelphia, listed A.J. Feeley as its third quarterback. Feeley signed with the Panthers earlier in the week.

Atlanta had rookie John Parker Wilson as its No. 3 quarterback.

The other inactive Panthers were rookie running back Tyrell Sutton, rookie guard Duke Robinson, tackle Gary Williams, defensive end Hilee Taylor and cornerback C.J. Wilson.

Also inactive for Atlanta were fullback Verron Haynes, rookie offensive tackle Garrett Reynolds, rookie safety William Moore, rookie linebacker Spencer Adkins and defensive tackle Trey Lewis.
