*Central Michigan defeats Alcorn State 48-0*
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.(AP) -- Carl Volny rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns as Central Michigan defeated Alcorn State 48-0 Saturday.
After beating Michigan State with a last-minute field goal last week, the Chippewas (2-1) easily routed the Braves (0-2)
Volny scored on 5- and 2-yard runs in the third quarter. Quarterback Dan LeFevour completed 10-of-12 passes for 92 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.
Antonio Brown scored on a 55-yard punt return, and Tim Phillips added a 2-yard touchdown run. Andrew Aguila contributed two field goals.
The Chippewa defense held Alcorn State to just 36 yards rushing. Braves quarterback Tim Buckley was 7 of 16 for 89 yards, including a 43-yard pass to Anton DeJarnett.
