*Big second half keeps Tulsa unbeaten*
TULSA, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Central Florida was able to keep the nation's top-ranked offense in check. But only for one half.
David Johnson threw for 265 yards and rushed for two of his team's six rushing touchdowns as 18th-ranked Tulsa rallied from a halftime deficit to blow past Central Florida, 49-19, on Sunday.
Damaris Johnson totaled two touchdowns and Courtney Tennial also scored twice for the Golden Hurricane (8-0, 5-0 C-USA), who came into the contest averaging 624.7 yards and 56.6 points.
The Knights (2-5, 1-2) did well to slow down the Golden Hurricane in the first half as UCF took a 19-14 lead into the locker room.
But Tulsa took control after intermission, scoring a touchdown on all three of its possessions in the third quarter.
Following a 70-yard kickoff return by Damaris Johnson, David Johnson capped the short drive with a 10-yard touchdown run to give Tulsa a 21-19 lead less than one minute into the second half.
Tennial ran in a 1-yard touchdown on the next drive for the Golden Hurricane and David Johnson scored on a 2-yard run with 30 seconds left in the third to give Tulsa a 35-19 bulge.
David Johnson connected with Damaris Johnson on a 15-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter and Tennial had a 7-yard scoring run late in the contest to provide the game's final margin.
Tulsa's defense also performed well, limiting UCF to 187 yards while recording eight sacks and forcing three turnovers.
Brian Watters had seven catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Knights, who have lost all four of their road games this season.
