    Game Recap

CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) -- Backup running back Yusef Kelly rushed for 97 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead Clemson to a 33-13 victory over Louisiana Tech.

Kelly started in place of senior Bernard Rambert, who sat out with tendinitis in his right foot.

Two of Clemson's three touchdown drives covered less than 20 yards. A blocked punt in the second quarter gave the Tigers possession at the Louisiana Tech 17 and led to Kelly's six-yard TD run that gave the Tigers a 17-6 lead.

With just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter and Lousiana Tech (1-1) trailing 26-13 and driving, Maurice Fountain intercepted a pass by Luke McCown and returned it to the 6, setting up Kelly's third score of the day.

Clemson (1-1) did not allow a score in the second half and intercepted McCown three times.

Willie Simmons completed 25-of-43 passes for 242 yards for the Tigers, while Aaron Hunt added a career-high four field goals, including a 47-yarder.
