*Moore hopes to keep Boise State undefeated* (16) Boise State (4-0) at Southern Miss (2-3), 8:00 pm EDT HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Forget a rebuilding year - Boise State is still undefeated with a redshirt freshman quarterback. Kellen Moore looks to lead the 16th-ranked Broncos to their fifth consecutive victory Saturday when they visit Southern Mississippi. Moore has thrived in his first season at the helm, completing 72 percent (77-of-117) of his passes for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns with two interceptions. He also has a rushing score. Opponents beware - Moore is only getting better with each passing week. He threw for 325 yards on 20-of-28 attempts with two touchdowns to lead Boise State to a 38-3 triumph over the Louisiana Tech last Wednesday. Moore completed passes to 10 different receivers for the Broncos, who have scored 36 points per game this season. "There are so many dimensions in the passing game with wideouts, tight ends, and now we can add the running backs," Moore said. "We find ways for our offense to keep rolling." The Boise State defense has also been impressive, holding three of its four opponents to seven points or less this season. The Golden Eagles are coming off a 40-37 overtime loss to Texas-El Paso last Saturday. Southern Miss failed to win, despite Damion Fletcher rushing for 260 yards with a TD and Austin Davis passing for 264 yards and two scores. |
