Ex-USC Aiken basketball player Meredith Legg Stapleton married Christopher Stapleton in October. She will appear on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta tonight at 9.

The all-time leading scorer in USC Aiken women’s basketball history will appear on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta at 9 p.m. Stapleton, who has battled cancer the past four years, will be featured on the episode Hope on a Hanger.

The show features Stapleton looking for her dream wedding dress. It also includes clips from her October wedding to Christopher Stapleton. The pair live outside of Charlotte, N.C., where she works at HNTB as a project analyst.

She said Thursday waiting to see the episode has been nerve-wracking.

“It was filmed 11 months ago – it’s hard to remember what you said!” Stapleton said via Facebook. “I’m also excited and thrilled for everyone to see how amazing our experience was – once in a lifetime for sure!”

Stapleton celebrated her 26th birthday in March. She also recently notched another year in her fight against cancer; she was diagnosed with uveal melanoma in her left eye on April 13, 2009.

Doctors eradicated the tumor without having to remove her eye. A new problem emerged, though, in May 2010 when a routine PET scan revealed a spot on her liver. She received radiosphere treatment during the summer.

In February 2011, doctors discovered six tiny lesions on her liver. She needed 12 immunoembolization and chemoembolization treatments during the year.

In March of this year, her scans came back stable except for a pair of tumors in her ovaries. Today, she’ll receive treatment in Tampa, Fla., before flying home to watch herself on TV.

“It’s crazy to say how blessed I am to have celebrated turning 26 in this battle. It’s hard to believe its been four years since I heard the first words, ‘You have cancer,’ ” she said. “I am doing great. I love married life and my new job. We are moving into a house tomorrow and just love every minute of every- day!”
