The USC Aiken women climbed one spot today to third in the USA Today Sports Division II Top 25 women’s basketball poll.

The Lady Pacers (12-0) reclaimed third – the school’s highest national ranking – after falling to fourth last week. USC Aiken was leapfrogged by Clayton State (13-0), which fell back to fourth this week.

The Lady Pacers play host to the Laker women at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the USC Aiken Convocation Center – the first top-five matchup in USC Aiken women’s history.

“I think it’s an honor for the (Peach Belt) conference for two teams to be in the top five,” Lady Pacers coach Mike Brandt said. “For us, it’s good for our program.”
