In Greenwood, S.C., eighth-seeded USC Aiken upset top-seeded Lander 2-1 in a shootout on Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference men’s soccer tournament.

After two overtime periods, the Pacers (7-5-4) hit four of their five attempts in the shootout for the win.

Lander, which came in ranked No. 6 in the country, finishes at 12-2-2.

All the regulation scoring happened in the first half. After Lander scored, USC Aiken’s Noel Mais tied it up at the 36:12 mark.

The Pacers will take on fourth-seeded Young Harris in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans.
