Jaguars finish eighth, Pacers 10th in Hootie at Bulls Bay golf tournament

AWENDEW, S.C. — The Georgia Regents men’s golf team shot 272 in the final round Tuesday to finish eighth in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club.

The Jaguars finished the 54-hole event at 876, 24 shots behind winner Auburn. The Tigers shot 273 to beat South Carolina by three strokes.

USC Aiken shot 282 in the final round and finished 10th in the 15-team event at 886.

Kentucky’s Ben Stow beat Auburn’s Niclas Carlsson in a playoff to claim medalist honors after the two tied for first at 209.

USC Aiken’s Brandon Robinson-Thompson (69) tied for third at 210 to lead all local finishers.

Alex Wennstam (66) tied for eighth to lead Georgia Regents and Matt NeSmith (67) tied for tied for 20th at 217.

Also for Georgia Regents, Cody Shafer (69) tied for 28th at 220, Viktor Edin (66) and Jake Marriott (71) tied for 40th at 224 and Meechai Padung (71) tied for 58th at 228.

For USC Aiken, Kyle Godsman (68) tie for 46th at 225, Hayden Letien (72) tied for 52nd at 227, Drew McElveen (76) tied for 62nd at 229 and Andrew Ward (73) finished 71st at 233.
