Jaguar men's golf team finishes ninth in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Georgia Regents men’s golf team shot 16-over-par 304 in Tuesday’s final round and finished ninth in the Eagle/Osprey Intercollegiate at Deerwood Country Club.

The Jaguars finished the 54-hole event at 45-over-par 909, 33 strokes behind winner Vanderbilt.

Maverick Antcliff tied for 11th at 6-over 222 (74-73-75) to lead Georgia Regents. Viktor Edin (75-78-75) and Alex Wennstam (73-78-77) tied for 37th place at 228. Cody Shafer (79-78-77), a former Greenbrier standout, and Jake Marriott (78-78-78) tied for 65th at 234. Meechai Padung (76-80-80) tied for 72nd at 236.

Emmanuel Kountakis, a former Lakeside standout, tied for 59th for Mercer at 233 (75-80-78). The Bears finished third, 13 strokes behind Vanderbilt.

Tulsa’s Logan McCraken was the medalist at 211 (72-71-68).
