In Florence, S.C., the Augusta State women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, fallilng to Francis Marion 81-76 in overtime on Wednesday night.

Augusta State’s Jemimah Ashby hit two free throws with one second left in regulation to force overtime.

The Patriots then outscored the Jaguars 8-3 in the extra period.

Augusta State, which is still off to its best start in school history, is 8-1 overall, 2-1 in the Peach Belt Conference.  Francis Marion improved to 6-3 overall, 1-2 Peach Belt Conference.

Ashby matched her career-high with 26 points on 10 of 12 shooting from the field.
