Lady Jags hire assistant coach

Courtney Boyd, a former women’s assistant coach at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, has been hired as an assistant for the Augusta State women’s basketball team.

Boyd will aide head coach Nate Teymer with all aspects of the program.

Grand View captured the NAIA Midwest Collegiate Conference's regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the Elite Eight last season, finishing 30-6.

Boyd, 26, won a national championship in 2007 as the starting point guard for Kirkwood (Iowa) Community College.

"I'm ecstatic to have Courtney as part of our Jaguar family," Teymer said. "She brings to the table a wealth of experience and a passion for the game of basketball that will be very contagious. Her personality and determination will attract some outstanding student-athletes to become a part of our women's basketball family."
