IN REMEMBERANCE

A memorial service will be held for former Augusta State student Matt Miklas at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church (3500 Walton Way Extension). Miklas, a reporter for The Bell Ringer, the school’s student newspaper, covered the Jaguar golf team’s trip to the White House in 2010. He died at age 23 in November, one month short of graduating.

YOU CAN'T SPELL CLASS WITHOUT... 

The debate rages on about whether the timeout called by Armstrong Atlantic State coach Jeremy Luther at the end of his team’s win Wednesday night over Augusta State was a classy move or not. Jaguars fans, coaches and player weren’t too pleased with the move. Here’s some advice for all coaches for the future: If your team is winning big in the final seconds, don’t call a timeout. Tell your players beforehand not to act like knuckleheads.
