Lander women. The Lady Bearcats are No. 1 in the nation for the first time. Lander (18-0) has a major test today when it plays host to No. 17 USC Aiken.
LeMoyne-Owen men. For the second time in three years, the Magicians were involved with Paine in a bench-clearing brawl, on Thursday at Paine's Carter Gym.
In advance of the big rivalry doubleheader Monday between USC Aiken and Augusta State at Christenberry Fieldhouse, the school's two mascots made a sportsmanship video which is available on YouTube.
The first Southeast Region poll comes out Wednesday. If Augusta State defeats USC Aiken, the third-ranked Jaguars likely will be atop the poll followed by No. 10 Lincoln Memorial (15-0).

While the highly-anticipated USC Aiken at Augusta State doubleheader will be wild and crazy, the bigger contest for the Jaguars might be their Thursday night affair with No. 21 Georgia Southwestern (12-3, 5-1).

Augusta State (16-1, 6-1): With five of their next six games at home, Jaguars are on the verge of pulling away in East Division.

USC Aiken (10-6, 4-5): Pacers should notch their second win in a row today.
Augusta State (6-9, 0-7): Lady Jaguars still seeking first win in 2011.
Paine (1-14, 1-11): Lady Lions still need to work on conditioning.
USC Aiken (16-3, 8-1): Lady Pacers move into first place in East with a win today.
