When describing Coastal Carolina's sweep of the individual and team titles at the Administaff Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, Chanticleers senior Aruka Felgueroso simply said: "It's perfect."
The Spaniard shot 4-under-par 68 in Monday's final round to finish with a 3-over-par 219 to claim a four-shot victory over teammate Brittany Henderson and Augusta State's Tamara Luccioli.
Felgueroso and Henderson also helped lift Coastal Carolina to a 27-over-par 891 and a 15-stroke win in the 54-hole tournament at Forest Hills Golf Club.
"Everyone played so well today. I'm so proud of my teammates. Things could not have been better," said Felgueroso, who bounced back after a second-round 77.
Entering the day tied for ninth and four shots off the pace, Felgueroso fired the tournament's low round, which included an eagle. On the par-4 15th, using a 9-iron from 115 yards out, she holed her shot that came in hard and fast but managed to hit the flagstick, allowing it to drop.
"I thought I overflew the green," Felgueroso said. "I didn't know where it went until I walked straight to the pin and saw that it was in."
UNC-Wilmington's Sofia Hagsund and Charleston Southern's Olivia Jordan-Higgins each finished with an 8-over 224 and tied for fourth.
On its home course, Augusta State had its best showing of the season, finishing in second place. It was also the Lady Jaguars' second top-three finish in the last three events, having finished third in the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic in February.
Lucciolli, who captured Augusta State's highest individual placement of the year, entered the day with a one-stroke lead but shot 4-over 76 in the final round.
Despite some struggles, Lucciolli said she's pleased with how the tournament played out.
"It was a good tournament but it was a little bit tough today," Lucciolli said. "Starting with the lead is always tougher, but I played all right. I didn't play my best game today, but I'm actually satisfied with second place. It could have been worse."
Augusta State's Natalie Wille shot 73 on Monday, second lowest of the day, to finish in ninth place (72-82-73). Jordyn Hage tied for 16th (76-76-80) for the Lady Jags, while Marit Bjerke tied for 20th (82-77-74) and Sarah Mooney tied for 40th (77-86-76). Playing as an individual, Augusta State's Julia Stalbro tied for 50th (78-79-86).
As a team, the Lady Jaguars finished at 42-over 906 (297-310-299). UNC-Wilmington was third at 62-over 926.
The Lady Jags are hopeful that the momentum built up from the runner-up finish will carry them through the remainder of the season.
"We all played well this afternoon, so it should be a big booster for the next tournament," Luccioli said. "All of our tournaments are pretty close together so we know that we'll play again in a few days, which should keep us in good shape."
Augusta State will travel to Hilton Head Island, S.C., for the Low Country Intercollegiate at Moss Creek Golf Club beginning Saturday.
