After winning four games in an eight-day stretch, the Augusta State men's basketball team climbed two spots to fifth in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II poll released this afternoon.
The Jaguars (22-2) clinched the Peach Belt Conference East Division title Saturday. Augusta State can wrap up the regular season league title Wednesday night with a win at Flagler and a Georgia College & State loss at Georgia Southwestern.
Arkansas Tech (23-0) remained atop the Division II poll, just ahead of Southern Indiana (23-0). Central Missouri checked in at No. 3, while Valdosta State is fourth.
Georgia College & State, the only other Peach Belt school in the poll, fell nine spots to No. 23 after suffering losses to Augusta State and USC Aiken.
