Georgia loses in extra innings in SEC baseball tournament

HOOVER, Ala. — Mississippi State scored the winning run on a Georgia throwing error in the bottom of the 10th to beat the Bulldogs 5-4 Tuesday night in the Southeastern Conference baseball tournament.

Mississippi State advances to play South Carolina on Wednesday when the tournament switches to a double-elimination format. Georgia is eliminated.

Georgia trailed 4-2 in the ninth before RBI singles by Sean McLaughin and Jess Posey tied it to force extra innings.
