It’s the only chance before the Aug. 30 opener against Clemson for fans to get a look at a Georgia defense revamped under coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and three other assistant coaches brought aboard this winter.
“I hope they see us get lined up,” Pruitt said. “I hope they see us play hard every snap. I hope we tackle well. I hope we play the ball in the deep part of the field. Just fundamentals, striking blockers, keeping the ball leveraged. That’s what we’ve been harping on all spring. Hopefully they’ll see that.”
SOUTH CAROLINA: Will hold its spring game today at noon. “We’’ll let some of the older guys play a little bit,” coach Steve Spurrier said. “Dylan (Thompson) will probably play at least a half.”
CLEMSON: Will hold its spring game today at 4 p.m. Chad Kelly will quarterback the Orange team and Cole Stoudt will quarterback the White squad. The Orange defense will be led by Corey Crawford and Josh Watson, while the White defense will feature All-American Vic Beasley and Stephone Anthony.

• The Eagles will play West Virginia during the 2015 season in Morgantown, W.Va.
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE: The Bulldogs will hold their spring game today at 1 p.m.
“Running back Jalen “Scoot” Simmons came back with a bang and is really looking good,” coach Buddy Pough said. “The quarterback spot is still wide open.”
MISSOURI: Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, once heralded as the top recruit in the nation, has been kicked off the team.
The move was announced Friday, a day after police in Columbia, Mo., said no charges would be filed in a suspected burglary involving the player because of reluctant witnesses fearing retaliation.
Green-Beckham had been suspended indefinitely from the team, ranked No. 5 after a 12-win season last year, on Monday for unspecified violation of team rules.
