Georgia coach Mark Richt was not impressed with the Bulldogs scrimmage at Sanford Stadium on Wednesday, saying the team lacked energy.

Keith Marshall had a 75-yard touchdown run but Aaron Murray threw three interceptions.

“Nobody was pleased,” said receiver Justin Scott-Wesley. “None of the coaches. Nobody was pleased. Even Coach Richt, he got fired up by the lack of passion that the offense had. … He had some words.”

“I thought the guys look kind of tired,” Richt said.

Murray completed 13 of 18 passes for 198 yards with one touchdown to go with his three interceptions. In all, Georgia quarterbacks threw six interceptions.

Hutson Mason completed 12 of 18 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Brice Ramsey threw two interceptions and Christian LeMay also threw an interception.

FLORIDA: Senior Andre Debose will miss the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Debose, who owns a school record with four kickoff returns for touchdowns, injured his knee during a non-contract drill in practice Tuesday. He will have season-ending surgery after swelling subsides.

Coach Will Muschamp says Debose was “doing very well in camp” and that coaches were “more than pleased with his effort
and attitude.”

Muschamp says Debose “just planted his foot and there was a tear. ... It is unfortunate and you feel bad anytime that someone is injured, and the coaching staff and our team will be very supportive in assisting Andre during his recovery.”

Debose has 29 receptions for 543 yards and four touchdowns. His biggest contribution came on special teams.

PITTSBURGH: Junior linebacker Todd Thomas is leaving the program.

Thomas told coach Paul Chryst on Wednesday morning that he no longer wanted to be part of the team. The decision comes a day after Thomas was bumped to second string on the depth chart as the Panthers began training camp.

Thomas started seven games last season for Pitt, finishing with 59 tackles, 1½ sacks, an interception and a blocked punt. He was expected to be a major contributor on a defense that finished 17th in the country in yards allowed last year.

FLORIDA STATE: Hired Duke administrator Stan Wilcox as its athletic director.

The school announced Wilcox’s hiring during a news conference Wednesday.

School President Eric Barron said “I strongly believe that Stan is the perfect person for Florida State University.”

Wilcox came to Duke in 2008 from Notre Dame along with AD Kevin White and had been his senior deputy director of athletics.

He replaces Randy Spetman, whose exit was announced in June after five years.
