Hoyas end Orange's 38-game home winning streak

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Otto Porter scored a career-high 33 points and No. 11 Georgetown beat No. 8 Syracuse 57-46 on Saturday, putting an emphatic stamp on the impending end of an era before an imposing Orange crowd.

His incredible play stopped the Orange’s 38-game winning streak in the Carrier Dome, the longest in Division I.

It was the final game between Georgetown (21-4, 11-3 Big East) and Syracuse (22-5, 10-4) in the Carrier Dome as members of the conference – the Orange are leaving the Big East in July to join the Atlantic Coast Conference.

In Spokane, Wash., Kevin Pangos scored 18 points and Gonzaga (27-2, 14-0 West Coast Conference) routed San Diego (13-16, 6-8).

NO. 9 KANSAS 74, TEXAS CHRISTIAN 48

In Lawence, Kan., Jeff Withey scored 18 points, Ben McLemore added 14 and Kansas (23-4, 11-3 Big 12) routed Texas Christian University (10-17, 1-13) to avenge a loss to the lowly Horned Frogs just over two weeks ago.

In Louisville, Ky., Gorgui Dieng scored 23 points to help Louisville (22-5, 10-4 Big East) pull away from Seton Hall (13-15, 2-13).

NO. 12 ARIZONA 73, WASHINGTON STATE 56

In Tucson, Ariz., Kevin Parrom scored a season-high 19 points and leading Arizona (23-4, 11-4 Pac-12) past Washington State (11-17, 2-13).

NO. 13 KANSAS STATE 81, TEXAS 69

In Austin, Texas, Rodney McGruder scored 20 points and Kansas State (22-5, 11-3 Big 12) stayed in the race for their first regular season conference championship since 1977 with a victory over Texas (12-15, 4-10).

In Fort Collins, Colo., Kendall Williams sank 10 3-pointers and scored 46 points, and New Mexico (23-4, 10-2 Mountain West Conference) ended the 27-game home-court winning streak of Colorado State (21-5, 8-4).

In Villanova, Pa., Darrun Hilliard scored 22 points to lead Villanova (18-10, 9-6 Big East) over Marquette (19-7, 10-4).

NO. 21 MEMPHIS 89, SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI 73

In Memphis, Tenn., Chris Crawford and Shaq Goodwin scored 19 points each and Memphis (24-3, 13-0) claimed its second consecutive Conference USA regular-season title by beating Southern Mississippi (21-7, 10-3).

In Eugene, Ore., Carlos Emory scored 19 points to lead Oregon (22-6, 11-4 Pac-12) past Stanford (16-12, 7-8 Pac-12).

NO. 24 VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH 75,

In Cincinnati, Troy Daniels scored 19 points, and Virginia Commonwealth (22-6, 10-3 Atlantic 10) overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half to beat Xavier (15-11, 8-5).
