BOSTON — North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell earned her 900th career victory when the No. 16 Tar Heels beat Boston College 80-52 on Thursday night.

“We haven’t even talked about it the last few days. They really were very focused tonight,” Hatchell said. “It’s nice to get that win.”

Hatchell joins Pat Summitt and Jody Conradt in the women’s 900-win club.

“Sylvia has been one of the great ambassadors of the women’s game, and it is so pleasing to see her reach the 900-win milestone in her career,” Summit said in a statement released after the victory. “I wish her all the best as she continues to build on her truly amazing career!”

Xylina McDaniel had 15 points and seven rebounds for North Carolina (21-3, 9-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).

In Bloomington, Ind., Alex Bentley and Maggie Lucas each scored 20 points to lead Penn State (19-3, 9-1 Big Ten) over Indiana (10-13, 1-9).

NO. 9 GEORGIA 61, AUBURN 58

In Athens, Ga., Jasmine Hassell made two free throws with 3:15 remaining to break a tie and finished with 15 points as Georgia (20-3, 8-2 Southeastern Conference) beat Auburn (13-10, 2-8).

Hassell also had 10 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.

NO. 10 KENTUCKY 76, ARKANSAS 71 (OT)

In Fayetteville, Ark., Bria Goss scored 17 points and Samarie Walker added 16 as kentucky (20-3, 8-2 SEC) beat Arkansas (15-8, 3-7).

NO. 15 SOUTH CAROLINA 65, ALABAMA 53

In Tuscaloosa, Ala., Aleighsa Welch and Ashley Bruner both had double-doubles as South Carolina (20-3, 8-2 SEC) defeated Alabama (12-11, 2-8).

Welch scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Bruner had 15 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

NO. 18 DAYTON 78, XAVIER 68

In Dayton, Ohio, Samantha MacKay scored 18 points and had seven assists as Dayton (20-1, 8-0 Atlantic 10 Conference) defeated Xavier (7-15, 1-7) to reach 20 victories for the sixth consecutive season.

NO. 20 DELAWARE 77, TOWSON 55

In Towson, Md., Elena Della Donne had 19 points with 11 rebounds as Delaware (19-3,
10-0 Colonial Athletic Association) beat Towson (7-15, 1-10).

MIAMI 62, CLEMSON 46

In Clemson, S.C., Morgan Stroman had 24 points and 16 rebounds to lead Miami (16-7, 7-5 ACC) past the Tigers (6-16, 2-9).

Quinyotta Pettaway led Clemson with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
