It’s the third time in school history the Hoosiers (20-2, 8-1 Big Ten) have beaten the No. 1 team at home, and it’s the first time they’ve done it in back-to-back seasons. The win gives Indiana sole possession of the Big Ten lead and likely the No. 1 ranking it held for the first seven weeks this season when the new poll comes out Monday.
The Wolverines (20-2, 7-2) were led by Trey Burke with 25 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. with 18.
Indiana took an early 20-7 lead and Michigan tied it only one time after that, at 40. The Hoosiers put it away with a late 7-2 run.
OKLAHOMA STATE 85, NO. 2 KANSAS 80
In Lawrence, Kan., Markel Brown scored 28 points, Marcus Smart added 25 and Oklahoma State (15-5, 5-3 Big 12) held on to upset Kansas (19-2, 7-1), ending the Jayhawks’ nation-leading 18-game winning streak.
Smart had a pair of key putbacks in the closing minutes, helping the Cowboys go on a 13-2 run that turned a 66-62 deficit into a 73-68 lead with just over a minute left.
The Jayhawks trimmed the Cowboys’ lead to 81-80 on a layup by Elijah Johnson with 18.8 seconds left. But freshman Phil Forte, an 89-percent foul shooter, made both of his tries for the Cowboys with 7.9 seconds to go.
PITTSBURGH 65, NO. 6 SYRACUSE 55
In Pittsburgh, Tray Woodall had 13 points as Pittsburgh (18-5, 6-4 Big East) continued its mastery of Top 10 teams at home, beating Syracuse (18-3, 6-2).
The Panthers improved to 13-1 against teams ranked in the Top 10 since the Petersen Events Center opened a decade ago.
C.J. Fair led Syracuse with 20 points but the Orange lost consecutive games for the first time in nearly two years.

In Indianapolis, Rotnei Clarke scored 23 points, and Butler (18-4, 5-2 Atlantic 10) beat Rhode Island (6-14, 1-6).

In Berkeley, Calif., Justin Cobbs made an 18-foot jumper with 1:35 remaining then added a pair of free throws and California (13-8, 5-4 Pac-12) hung on to defeat Oregon (18-4, 7-2), handing the Ducks their second loss in a row to an unranked team this week.

In Lincoln, Neb., Lenzelle Smith Jr. had 21 points and Ohio State (17-4, 7-2 Big Ten) held off a late surge by Nebraska (11-12, 2-8).

In Cedar Falls, Iowa, Anthony James scored 16 points and Northern Iowa (12-11, 5-6 Missouri Valley Conference) beat Wichita State (19-4, 8-3).

In Norman, Okla., Angel Rodriguez hit two free throws with 5.6 seconds left to lift Kansas State (17-4, 6-2 Big 12) over Oklahoma (14-6, 5-3).

In Albuquerque, N.M., Chad Adams hit two 3-pointers during a key second-half run to spur New Mexico (19-3, 6-1 Mountain West) past Nevada (11-10, 2-5).

In Omaha, Neb., Doug McDermott scored 25 points, and Creighton (20-3, 9-2 Missouri Valley Conference) overcame poor 3-point shooting in the first half to defeat Bradley (13-10, 5-6).

In Air Force Academy, Colo., Michael Lyons scored 20 points and Air Force (14-6, 5-2 Mountain West Conference) beat San Diego State (16-5, 4-3), overcoming a 25-point performance by Aztecs star Jamaal Franklin.

In Newark, N.J., Sean Kilpatrick scored 21 points and Cincinnati (18-4, 6-3 Big East) blew almost all of a 20-point lead before holding off Seton Hall (13-9, 2-7).

In Statesboro, Ga., C.J. Reed scored 19 points and Eric Ferguson added 16 as Georgia Southern (10-13, 4-6 Southern) held off Chattanooga (8-14, 3-6).
