Duke was the last unbeaten team in men’s or women’s Division I basketball. The last time the Blue Devils came up to Connecticut two years ago they were also unbeaten and the Huskies had one loss. UConn won that game 87-51.
For 20 minutes the Blue Devils hung tough with UConn.
That quickly changed in the second half. UConn
(17-1) held a two-point lead at halftime and jumped right out on Duke in the second half. After trading baskets, the Huskies scored 20 of the next 25 points.
Alexis Jones had 14 points for the Blue Devils (16-1).

In Ann Arbor, Mich., Maggie Lucas scored 19 points and Alex Bentley added 16 for Penn State, which took over sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.
The Lady Lions (15-2, 5-0 Big Ten) and Wolverines
(15-3, 4-1) were the only teams in the league without a conference loss.
Michigan kept it close before Penn State went on a late 12-0 run.
Rachel Sheffer had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolverines, who went 6 of 26 from 3-point range.
The loss snapped Michigan’s 10-game winning streak, which equaled a school record. The Lady Lions have won nine straight.
Penn State led 47-46 before holding Michigan scoreless for over 6 minutes.
AP POLL: Baylor remains No. 1 in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll for a third straight week after two easy victories.
The Lady Bears cruised to wins over Kansas State and West Virginia and have 28 consecutive Big 12 regular-season victories. Baylor had 35 first-place ballots.
The Lady Bears will face No. 24 Iowa State and 20th-ranked Oklahoma this week.
Notre Dame, UConn, Duke and Kentucky round out the first five. The Blue Devils, the last unbeaten team in Division I basketball, visit the Huskies on Monday night.
The Wildcats are followed by Stanford, California, Penn State, Tennessee and Maryland.
None of the Top 10 teams changed as they went 18-0, winning by an average of 22.5 points.
Michigan State entered the poll at No. 25 while Kansas fell out.
