Christal Caldwell led West Virginia (11-6, 3-3) with 22 points. Taylor Palmer scored 17.
After West got a 3-pointer from Palmer 22 seconds into the game, Baylor responded with a 20-2 run. By the first media timeout only 5 minutes into the game, the Lady Bears had already surged ahead 15-5.

In Hartford, Conn., Stefanie Dolson scored a career-high 25 points to lead Connecticut over Syracuse, handing the upstart Orange just their second loss of the season.
Dolson, who hit nine of her 17 shots, also became the 36th player in UConn history to reach 1,000 points for her career.
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis also had 25 points and freshman Breanna Stewart, who grew up in Syracuse, added 20 for the Huskies (16-1, 4-1 Big East).
Freshmen Brianna Butler and Brittney Sykes had 11 and 10 points respectively to lead Syracuse (15-2, 3-1).

In Norman, Okla., Aaryn Ellenberg scored 22 points and Oklahoma (15-3, 5-1 Big 12) defeated Texas (7-10, 0-6).
Joanna McFarland scored 15 points and Nicole Griffin scored 10 for the Sooners, who never trailed in bouncing back from an 82-61 loss to No. 24 Iowa State on Tuesday.
Chassidy Fussell led Texas with 21 points and nine rebounds.
