Florida suspends lineman Jessamen Dunker

Florida coach Will Muschamp suspended offensive lineman Jessamen Dunker on Friday following his arrest for allegedly stealing a scooter. Muschamp made the announcement two days after Dunker was charged with a third-degree felony.

Muschamp suspended Dunker, a redshirt freshman expected to compete for a starting job this spring, from all team activities until “we get more information.”

VIRGINIA TECH: Frank Beamer has overhauled his offensive coaching staff.

He announced Friday that he’s hired Scot Loeffler as his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Jeff Grimes as his offensive line coach and Aaron Moorehead to coach wide receivers.

BIG EAST: Will have a 10-team league this fall without divisions after Boise State and San Diego State decided to remain in the Mountain West, sources told ESPN.com.

Those defections forced the Big East to scrap its planned home-and-away opponents. A new list of opponents was released on Friday.

TICKET TO BOAST: Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel recently got a speeding ticket near Dallas and a local judge thought it newsworthy enough to post something on Facebook.

Ennis City Manager Steve Howerton on Friday issued a news release saying Judge W. Lee Johnson’s Facebook post was “insensitive and inappropriate.” He said Johnson could face disciplinary action.

Manziel got the ticket in Ennis, a small city about 35 miles south of Dallas.

Johnson didn’t post Manziel’s name on his Face­book site. Instead, the judge wrote about “a certain unnamed (very) recent Heisman Trophy winner.”
