Notre Dame women roll past Kansas State

LAS VEGAS — Skylar Diggins scored 17 of her 22 points in the first half to lead No. 5 Notre Dame to an 87-57 victory over Kansas State on Thursday night in the second round of the World Vision Classic.

Diggins scored 15 of the Fighting Irish’s first 23 points, leading them to a 23-10 lead 8:20 into the game.

Kayla McBride added 12 points for Notre Dame (8-1).

Brittany Chambers had 18 points and seven rebounds, for Kansas State (7-3).

In Newark, Del., Tianna Hawkins had 16 points and 16 rebounds, and Maryland hounded Elena Delle Donne in her return from an illness as the Terrapins (8-2) beat Delaware (5-3).

Delle Donne played for just the second time this season after missing a month with Lyme Disease. She finished with 19 points and six rebounds but was 7 for 23 from the floor in 34 minutes.

DUQUESNE 62,

NO. 24 WEST VIRGINIA 54

In Morgantown, W.Va., Wumi Agunbiade scored 15 points as Duquesne (10-1) beat West Virginia (7-3) for its ninth win in a row.

Christal Caldwell added 13 points and Ayana Dunning had 10 for West Virginia.

NO. 18 OKLAHOMA 70,

UC RIVERSIDE 46

In Norman, Okla., Aaryn Ellenberg scored 27 points to lead Oklahoma (9-2) over UC Riverside (6-4).

NO. 20 TEXAS 53, CORNELL 40

In Austin, Texas, Imani McGee-Stafford had 20 points and 12 rebounds as Texas (7-2) beat Cornell (5-5).

Nneka Enemkpali had 11 rebounds for the Longhorns and Chassidy Fussell had 10 rebounds.
